Marshall JCM 800 2204 1984 Amp For Sale Thunder Road Guitars
#1 I'm going to mod my 2204 (4104 actually) cause it has too much treble. I allways keep the presence and treble pot set to 0. On this website: Tales From The Tone Lounge; The Ultimate JCM800? I found that there are two treble peaking circuits, wich I am going to mod. I've already done the bright cap mod, any other mods you guys recommend??

Such a great mod for an 800. Anyways it's built by Legendary Tones. Check the website for info and clips. I'd do one but I'll end up smashing my phone for ruining the sound. The playing is always my fault. It will work with a few Marshallz. There are a couple versions of it. Info on which one is there.

Marshall JCM 800 2210 1987 Amp
Bay Area, California. Jan 28, 2023. #1. Can anyone think of a reason why a stock Marshall 2203 (JCM800 from the mid 80's) would break into oscillation with a simple mod? The mod is essentially adding a 0.1uF bypass cap across the 10K cold-clipper cathode resistor on V1A. Without the cap, the amp works normally.

The Mod: You may know changing Locate the 68K input resistor (R3) and place a 330pf 1kv ceramic cap across it. This will beef up the mids and lows and make the entire amp feel more "meaty" and "thick". Locate the 10K cathode resistor (R6 found on V1B) and replace it with a 4.7K resistor. This will beef up the gain.

#1 I just picked up a Marshall JCM800 Bass for cheap ($900 shipped). I think I want to mod it but I heard some are worth a good bit of money. Mine is a 50 watt with 6550's and verticle inputs. I could do the master volume mod myself. I haven't had a chance to look at the schematic to see if anymore "simple" mods are possible. BSRIAudio
